The Creative Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing CPG’s day-to-day creative production operations efforts, while also managing ongoing resource needs and tracking department key metrics.

This position is an integral support to the Creative team to ensure that CPG provides the proper systems, information and necessary resources to consistently deliver a superior creative product, both on time and on budget, all while operating efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

Communication, initiative and timeliness are keys to success in this role since it requires synchronizing the efforts of multiple parties — department heads, project managers, creatives, producers, etc. — to gain alignment on vision and expectations, and then subsequently communicating to a team of internal and external resources to meet project goals by delegating tasks, regularly monitoring status to track progress and analyzing project workflow throughout development to identify procedural or product changes as necessary.

This position reports to the Creative Director.

Required skills

Creative Operations Workflow

  • Work with requesters to clarify task parameters, deliverables, timelines, budgets and definitions of success, all in advance of task assignments
  • Identify and monitor out of scope requests; elevate issues as needed
  • Educate and partner with all affiliate departments and teams to advocate for internal systems and ensure alignment and efficient project workflows
  • Identify challenges/impediments and recommend strategies to improve production process
  • Meet regularly with Creative Director to discuss ways of improving collaboration, communication and workflow between Client Experiences and Creative teams
  • Responsible for overall utilization and productivity tracking and resourcing forecasts; consult with appropriate parties to ensure workflow efficiencies and high productivity levels
  • Assure final deliverables are in compliance with company quality standards and client requirements

Capacity Planning

  • Maintain constant knowledge of current and upcoming projects and business development activities as they relate to resourcing and capacity planning
  • Work with internal teams to assess resource needs and act as point of contact to engage, book and manage necessary resources
  • Expand CPG’s network of external resources to ensure quality coverage in all areas of production

Task/Traffic Management

  • Direct and traffic the flow of design and other creative work
  • Assess creative and production needs or project risks on an ongoing basis; resolve resource booking conflicts expeditiously; escalate issues as needed

Project Management

  • Oversee all internal creative projects and other assignments as required
  • Provide client support and communications for all such projects
  • Manage billings and administration for projects requested by other Nitrous Effect agencies
  • Other projects as directed by your manager or CPG leadership

Margin Support

  • Devise and implement measures of creative operations success across agency in collaboration with Creative Director
  • Monitor creative and production team hours against project budgets
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on time and on budget
